We are looking for a library assistant for a fixed-term position during parental leave.

Finspång Municipality has three public libraries. The main library is located in the center of Finspång, and we have two branch libraries, one in Hällestad and one in Rejmyre. The primary placement for this position is at the main library, but work at a branch may also occur.

The role entails

As a library assistant, you and your colleagues are a key service function for the library operations, responsible for the daily activities at the library. To provide our visitors and users with quality interactions, it is important that you have a welcoming attitude and the interest, willingness, and ability to help others. A key part of your work is to guide and provide good service to our visitors, as well as contribute to making the library environment accessible and inviting.

Prerequisites include an interest in people and literature, and the ability to contribute to flexible working methods and collaboration within the work group. This position also includes marketing our services and activities via social media, in digital event calendars, and in the form of printed materials such as posters, flyers, brochures, etc.

Your tasks will include among other things:

• Working at the information desk with the lending of books and other media. Informing about the library's offerings, including those available via the library's e-services.
• You will work with administrative tasks such as shelving books and preparing media, which requires you to be careful and organized.
• You will work with information and marketing of the library's services and program activities, digitally and in print via social media, digital event calendars, newsletters, information brochures, etc.

Who are you?

You are good at interacting and communicating with visitors, colleagues, and partners.

We see that you put the visitor at the center, that you have good knowledge of literature which enables you to inspire others to read. As a person, you are clear, communicative, structured, and engaged, while also being careful and enjoying following routines.

A high school education is required. Merits include previous experience working in public libraries and within communication and marketing. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English and possess high IT competence.

We offer a full-time (100 percent) fixed-term position during parental leave, with the possibility of extension. The position involves working evenings and weekends according to a schedule.

You will primarily work at the main library, but duties may also take place at our branch libraries and within our outreach activities. Since the work involves travel between different workplaces, you must have a valid driver's license (Category B).
